Nine Inch Nails: Quake Main Theme. IF YOU PUT THE GAME DISC IN YOUR CD PLAYER AND SKIP TO TRACK 2 YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE SONGS!

It was awesome that games could do that.

I believe Test Drive 4 did the same thing. Shitty techno though.

Half Life did a similar thing. I had iTunes open and it started playing just the music from the game.

It was a pretty clever way to get CD-quality audio into a game.

That's not Nine Inch Nails though. They're called Sonic Mayhem. http://www.sonicmayhem.com/

It actually is. They made a huge deal about how Trent Reznor did the music and sound design for Quake. It's why the ammo boxes for the nailgun have NIN logos on them.

GTA1 had a cool feature- where you could put any CD in the drive and it would change tracks when you changed cars.

A lot of PS1 games will do that if you turn the system on and then put the game in.

From Quake II
That game was a beast and the soundtrack was a clever way to make you play faster than you should.

It's a handy way to get you ready for Quake II DM, which was all about speed.

I've had those tracks ever since I played it. I have this track on my phone playlist, actually.
